Bunionette (Tailor’s bunion)


  • A bunionette is a similar deformity as a bunion but of the 5th toe. It results in a painful bony prominence on the side of the 5th toe

  • Caused by lateral deviation of the 5th metatarsal head.

  • More common in women than men & highly associated with constrictive shoes

  • Dr. Marsh corrects the deformity with an osteotomy of the 5th metatarsal
